Description
The Write Away Student Handbook from Thoughtful Learning provides age-appropriate lessons to teach elementary students the writing process, from prewriting through revising and editing. Sentences and paragraphs are taught, as well as the forms of writing. Students also learn how to use the library and computer to find information, read graphics and contractions, use a glossary, and more. A free Digital Teacher Guide is available on the publisher’s website. This valuable resource includes a scope and sequence, activity worksheets and handouts, guides for assessing student writing, and a weekly schedule that aligns lessons to the Write Away SkillsBook. The consumable SkillsBook offers more practice on creating better sentences, as well as editing and proofreading skills. Practice in punctuation, grammar and usage, abbreviations, and capitalization are also included. Sold separately, the Write Away SkillsBook Teacher Guide provides reduced student pages with answers.
