Excellent Material
This is my first time using this material and I'm impressed with a few things. 1) The examples are thoughtful and useful for discussion. The examples are good for logic and character building as well. 2) It uses real grammar terms to help kids see how grammar study impacts effective writing 3) It's a little funny at times, helping to engage my student. 4) There are ample examples to help both the student and me master the material. The teacher guide is necessary but really easy to use.

This is the first book of the series I've tried and I'm not disappointed. I started my 7th grader here at book 4 because I see a logical progression of writing skills into high school. I've also exposed her to the material discussed in the previous books. It's still a decent amount of writing work for her so I'm pleased.

My background is teaching college writing and I'd recommend this book series. (I'm doing the 1st book with my 4th grader as well.
