Why did you choose this?

Saxon works!

We have always use Math U See, but I have heard it does not prepare the student for SAT. So we switched to Saxon for Jr High/High School. Came highly recommended by other homeschool moms.

We did Math Mammoth for a few years and we were ready for a change. Online programs were not a good fit for us. Math Mammoth was sometimes confusing and too much work. I wanted a solid, reputable math…

Does this disc play in a DVD player or computer and is it something student is able to watch and does it go through each lesson with them? What is the difference in this dvd and the other one that comes with the other Saxon algebra 1/2?

The DIVE CDs are computer-based and provide a digital-whiteboard based lesson to accompany each lesson in the text. The student can watch problems being worked and listen to the teacher but will not see a person.

Saxon Teacher is the other computer-based program. It is similar in format in terms of the lessons but also includes worked solutions for every problem in the text (the same content as the solutions manual).

The last option is the Mastering Algebra DVDs. You see the teacher in these and they play either from a DVD player or from the computer. They also provide lessons to accompany each lessons from the text.
