Pythagorean Theorem. If students finish this course and have mastered
the last 40 lessons (scoring 90% or higher on tests), they can skip Saxon
Algebra ½ and go into Saxon Algebra 1.

Love Saxon, answer key has errors
Love Saxon. I would say the scope and breadth of this book is very challenging for an average math student. My 7th grader is doing well but it covers quite a lot. Knocked one star for errors in the answer key. A little over halfway done with the text and we have found about 5 incorrect answers in the answer key. So make sure you're on top of your student's answers; occasionally the key is wrong so you can't really blindly correct.

Saxon Math Homescool 8/7
We have been using Saxon Math Homeschool edition for several years now. We love the repetition and the flow. Weve used Dive DVDs the past 2 years because they go on to explain/teach the lesson and give examples that are not in the book (like the Saxon teacher DVD - which follows word for word exactly whats in the Teachers Manual). Highly recommended.

Saxon 8/7 Math with Dive
We had started with a different math system prior to Saxon. However, we were having a difficult time understanding how to complete the problems. Explanations not thorough.
Since, we started working with Saxon Math and Dive , we have been succeeding with all the problems. The explanation in the book along with the disc are very thorough. If you need further review, just stop disc and listen to instructor as many times as needed.
We will continue using Saxon through our Senior year. I highly recommend this curriculum.

We have used Saxon with the Dive CD for the last 3 years grades 5 to 7 This combination has changed math time completely it is no longer a frustrating time for us It is the best money I have spent for her math education I will continue to purchase it through high school Since Saxon lists the lesson number with each problem if she does not understand how to work the problem she can view that lesson on the Dive CD again Dr Shormann gives a few examples in each lesson and then he gives a few practice problems The student pauses the CD and works the problem and then they watch Dr Shormann work the problem to make sure they are working it correctly His examples and practice problems are different from the ones given in the book

This set includes the consumable tests/worksheets book as well as the answer key for both the tests and the worksheets.
my daughter used 6th grade abeka last year and had some struggles but did fine with help. should i try the 6/7 version or 7/8?
I would have her take the placement test on the Saxon website and that way you can see what level she needs to start at.
How long are each of the Dive lessons?
They vary from 5-20 minutes, with most being about 10-15 minutes.
My daughter used Saxon home study 6/7 last year plus Nichole The Math Lady and she did well, this year I ordered 7/8 with the CD-ROM hoping the CD will also be helpful.
