An upgrade from the Story of the World Volume 4 Combo package, this package includes everything a family needs to study Volume 4 of Story of the World, including an additional set of the consumable Student Pages in a bound format (also in the included Activity Book), plus an unabridged audiobook recording of the text. This package is best if you want to save the consumable pages from the Activity Book for another child later, sell the book when done with it, or if you have two students needing the consumable pages. While student pages from the activity book can also be photocopied, it may be more economical to have them in bound format. Photocopy rights only extend to family use, not co-ops or classrooms. This package specifically includes a paperback reader and audiobook in the materials, which provide a year-long study of Modern history.

Love these history books!
My kids love all of the Story of the world books. They love coloring the pages while listening to the story of the day. They really enjoy the activities that go with the lessons. I love the extra reading suggestions in each lesson.

Great purchase!
This has been one of my best homeschool purchases. I love that I can use this for my four children grades 2-8. We listen to the CD together and are able to follow-up with the map work and review. We have also used the tests. I have always added my own biographies and historical fiction to each time period we've covered to add interest and hook them on the time period. I have found this to be a great compliment to a literature based history study, and I have appreciated the author's style of writing and tone.

This set really delves into world history, so if you want more of an American History focus, you may want to use something else. However, covering twentieth century American history would be difficult to do without a world context.

I would recommend this course especially for families trying to cover a range of ages together. It works as a great spine or could be used as a stand alone program. You can easily modify expectations for various ages and add family read aloud books of your own choosing as well as add literature at each student's level.

Why did you choose this?

We have been through the previous three volumes of Story of the World and are excited to go through this last volume in our homeschool.

We've done all the Story of the World volumes. We love this curriculum and are looking forward to finishing it!

I have been homeschooling for quite awhile and been doing this series with my two younger boys and wanted them to do the final volume of Story of the World

We have loved this program. The stories help our students relate and remember important moments in history.

Is the main book hardcover?

It may come in hard cover but I bought the soft cover one. It might be a little cheaper that way. Hope it helps.
