Oh, the feel of a nice, thick (1 cm.) wooden pattern block! Don't tell your children that these aren't just toys! The bright, enticing primary colors seem to draw even the smallest of our children into play. Proportioned shapes allow for the construction of infinite designs. Even before they begin to use them for "work" on symmetry, congruence, similarity, measurement, fractional relationships, counting, sorting, and geometry, they are discovering the unique relationships between the blocks and getting plenty of experience in patterning and spatial problem-solving. We've had hours of enjoyment with our set and, with 250 blocks to the bucket, there's enough for several children to construct or work simultaneously.
Publisher's Description of Set of 250 Wooden Pattern Blocks (1 cm thick) in jar
This durable set of wooden pattern blocks provides a lifetime of use. Perfect for counting, sorting, linear measurement and matching. Each set contains 250 pieces.
Sets include green triangle, orange square, red trapezoid, tan rhombus, blue parallelogram, and yellow hexagon. Sets come in either plastic or wood, and vary in thickness and quantity.
I bought these for our grandchildren for Christmas. After they were opened, my son said, "Are these the same ones we had when we were kids?" I'm not sure who enjoyed them more.

Great for Saxon math
Love these wooden pattern blocks so much better than plastic. I've had the exact blocks in plastic for years but somehow they make a racket and grate on my nerves. These wooden blocks are just right! Somehow they are much quieter, and I love the feel of wood.

Great purchase, great price!
My kids are loving these. They pull them out all the time. They are made of a nice sturdy wood and are a lovely vibrant color, which is exactly what I was looking for. Theyre thicker than the kind I used In school, but still lots of fun! Also, a great price. This was the best price I could find online.

Is this good for 3 year olds?
Sara O
The green triangle pieces are a bit small. They could easily be put into a little mouth. I'd consider them a choking hazard for a 3 year old. I have a 3 year old and without close supervision, he'd spread these across the floor before he'd actually sit and build something with them. If you have a girl, or if these are only brought out when you're planning on working WITH the 3 year old, they might work out and be fun. I hope this helps! They are a really nice learning tool to have on hand. They are nicely made and there are plenty of them in the tub they come in to be able to create lots of things with them! If you get them and your child isn't ready for them, you could always bring them back out again in another 6 months. 😊

Are these blocks hardwood?
Boy Mom
Yep! They sure are. They stand up to kids' manipulating, stacking, fiddling with, etc. We love 'em.
SARA D
Are these blocks compatible with the block trays?
Bonnie A
Yes! They fit nicely inside! We never filled our hexagon completely, though. (We don't own a triangle.)
