BJU Pressmanuscript handwriting is a pre-cursive
stroke with most letters formed in one stroke. Student Worktexts are
consumable and can include practice of Scripture, poetry, hymns, and more. Grade
1 (3rd Ed.) incorporates some extended practice, with more practice space.
Grade 2 transitions to a more traditional cursive. The next levels become
progressively more difficult, with Grade 6 including an introduction to
Chancery Cursive (a calligraphy style); a chisel-point calligraphy pen is
required. Home School Kits are also available and include a Teacher’s
Edition and consumable Student Edition. The KJV of the Bible is used for
Scripture copywork.
