Bible 10 Doctrines for a Biblical Worldview Homeschool Kit 1st Edition
When people cease to believe in a reality defined by God, there is chaos and anxiety. This course helps ground high school students as God reveals Himself through Scripture and teaches students to cling to God and His promises. By studying nine major doctrinal categories, students learn the truth of scripture and how it shapes one’s values. This course emphasizes beliefs because behavior should be directed by correct doctrine as it is applied to one’s life. As students analyze and evaluate doctrinal claims, they become confident and firm in their faith as it pours over into their personal lives. Units of this study include How and Why We Learn Doctrine, The Word of God, God, The Son of God, The Spirit of God, God’s Creation, Salvation Provided by God, The People of God, and The Triumph of God. The text also addresses questions a young adult might struggle with and includes tips on interpreting difficult passages. The kit includes teacher guides for each semester, a student textbook, a student activity book, activities answer key, assessments, and an assessment answer key.
Teacher Editions Part 1 and 2 guide parents through the material with complete lesson plans. While there are many additional suggested resources and handouts, you can adapt the course to your student’s needs. A reduced copy of the student book, instruction details, lesson support guide, answers to textbook questions, and other teacher resources are included in the teacher editions.
The Student Text begins each chapter with an essential question to engage students in making the topic discussed applicable to their lives. Memory verses, as well as explanations of key concepts and terms are included in the margins of the text. The content of the text walks students through how to evaluate doctrinal claims and compare scripture with scripture in context. The support of illustrations, charts, and diagrams aid in the visual learning. Thinking It Through questions are interspersed throughout the chapters and chapter reviews provide a thorough review before the assessments. Every unit concludes with a hymn and a Bible Truth that were previously taught in grades 1-3.
The Activities Manual contains exercises to help students examine scripture and apply these truths to their own lives. For example, there might be an exercise contrasting a non-biblical view with a biblical one or a short writing assignment as a response to specific scripture references. A prayer journal guide and memory verses are also included in the Activities book to teach students to pray specifically based on each lesson’s theme. The Activities Answer Key is spiral-bound and includes a copy of the student Activities book with answers in red.
Assessments are given after every unit. Each test includes multiple choice, matching, true/false, essay questions, and scripture memory. The Assessments Answer Key packet is unbound and 3-hole punched and includes a copy of each test with answers in red along with text page numbers to easily locate answers. Answers to essay questions are also included in the answer key.
