Description
Publisher's Description of Here to There (National Geographic Readers Level 1 / Co-reader)

Car, trucks, planes, trains, bikes, gondolas, and even funiculars–there are so many ways to get around! Set out on a journey around the world to discover just how many vehicles we use to get from here to there.

Whether you're canoeing down a river, zooming in a maglev train, or just simply walking, people are always on the move! In this book, young readers will explore the ways we travel through water, on land, and in the sky.

National Geographic Kids Readers have been a hit in the beginning reader category, and this book builds upon that success with a new approach–parents and children reading together. With the same combination of careful text, brilliant photographs, and fun approach to high-interest subjects that has proved to be a winning formula with kids, National Geographic Co-readers provide one page of adult read-aloud and one page of kid read-aloud text on each spread, building toward a collaborative reading experience.

Category Description for National Geographic Readers

Engagingly written with vibrant photographs and illustrations, budding readers are bound to find a book they want to read! The readers are almost magazine-like in the quality of the photos and the short segments of interesting text. The information is concise and does not overload the children as they read, which enables them to easily read through a book with a sense of accomplishment, while learning great information.

Category Description for Nat Geo Level 1 (Grades Pk-1)

Level 1 books are written for new readers and are available in two options: Level 1 Co-Read and Level 1. The Level 1 Co-Read titles identify one page for the parent/older sibling to read and the opposite side for the budding reader. The parent/sibling side provides the parent an opportunity to model reading more challenging words and provides interesting topical information to create interest. Level 1 Readers focus on advancing independent reading and include occasional side notes to be read for more information. Some titles (typically the Science titles) include easy to do activities to engage young learners. Targets PK-1st grade although content and skills may be appropriate for a slightly older reader who needs to build fluency.
