I choose Go Math to be consistent with what my children were learning in public school. They are home due to the pandemic. The curriculum is fine, I would have liked to see more of a scripted/guided lesson plan. The teachers manual seems to be the same as a public school teacher would receive and I am not a teacher by profession.

Good teaching guide, but no online access to additional teaching material.
I chose this curriculum because it's what my kids we're working on in public school the first half of second grade. I am disappointed that the online resources aren't available to homeschoolers, only schools. And I can't locate the actual chapter tests anywhere, not sure where they're hidden, so I'm using the pretest as the test.
The curriculum is thorough. It teaches several different ways to solve addition and subtraction (Chapter 4&5, the chapters we've covered) utilizing mental math, breaking numbers into tens/ones, and even showing tens cubes and ones, all on the same new skill, split into two lessons each way. Thorough. We don't use all the worksheet pages in each chapter (neither did the school!).
I like the Problem of the Day in the teaching manual, good intro into the lesson.
Also, the lessons are quick! So we like it, also, I've got nothing else to compare it to ;)

This is what my kids learned in school so I am hoping to supplement with this.

Im following the math that our desired private school follows
