Publisher's Description of 180 Days of Language for Kindergarten (Practice, Assess, Diagnose)
Provide Kindergarten students with the right tools to grow their grammar skills. This easy-to-use classroom resource provides teachers and parents with daily practice to build students' grammar skills. Featuring 180 quick, diagnostic-based activities, data-driven assessment tips, and digital resources including pdfs of the activity sheets, and assessments, Kindergarteners will be gaining grammar skills in no time!
It's refreshing to see a series of practical workbooks committed to promoting strong grammar skills and mastering standard forms of English - not only for their usefulness in improving composition skills but also for their insights into the way language works. This series provides daily worksheets that cover capitalization, punctuation, parts of speech and spelling in four (K) to eight (6th gr) simple sentence exercises - i.e. underline the conjunction, circle the word that should be capitalized, write the missing punctuation, etc. Correlated to state and national (CCSS) standards, performance on these daily exercises can be tracked for each student to determine areas of strength, weakness and the subsequent need for more targeted instruction. These books do not provide instruction but they do provide lots of daily practice in a short-and-sweet format that will take the student about 5-10 minutes daily to complete.
The black and white format is straight-forward and "clean." A sidebar scorecard on each page helps both student and teacher assess skills. Reproducible page and item analysis spreadsheets provide the teacher with diagnostic information. A complete answer key is provided in the back. Additional downloadable resources for the student and teacher are also available online with purchase of this book, including charts, practice pages and more. 205 pgs, pb. ~ Janice
