Description

I read it once, I read it twice. I think you'll find it rather nice. What do you think? I think poetry is an interesting outlet for students to explore, and learning about some famous poets is a great addition to a literature study.

This tome has loads of historical information about Britain and events that inspired many a poets' pen. Politics and love are favorite themes of course. Student read biographical bits of favorite English poets from 1806-1953 as well as some chosen poems by each. Questions at the end of each chapter can be used for discussion or as a written assignment.

Poets include: both Brownings, Tennyson, Arnold, Rossetti, Yeats, Sitwell, Owen, Smith, Auden and Thomas. Thirty-two pages include a glossary and book lists for further study. Large photos of the authors are included and the text is broken up with bold reds and oranges to create a very readable and interesting book. ~ Sara
