The Abeka two-vowel rule covers both words ending with a silent “e" and those with vowel pairs. This set of 100 (6" x 4") cards provides words that follow this rule. The cards have color borders but are not grouped according to color. Instead, they are arranged by vowel sounds. Words are printed on one side of the cards and written in cursive on the back. This allows students to practice reading words both ways. In addition to the five vowels groups, there is a final group that provides sight words and punctuation marks. Now, students can make sentences!
Publisher's Description of Two-Vowel Word Cards
Once your child learns how to sound out long sounds of a vowel, these cards are a great way to drill and review two-vowel words. With 100 different cards, divided by vowel, you are given a wide variety of words to practice with your child. Front of card displays manuscript word while back of card displays the same word in cursive to give your child practice in reading either format. For additional reinforcement, try putting the One-Vowel Word Cards (sold separately) along with the Two-Vowel Word Cards to make short sentences for your child to read. K4–K5.
