Publisher's Description of Abeka Nursery Arts and Crafts
From making a Creation mobile to a turkey headband, your child, ages 18–24 months, will love these fun-filled pages containing 80 projects! Each week, your child will have one or two pages to color or paint, introducing him to a new color each month. Every other week, he will be given a simple craft project with themes of Bible stories, colors, seasons, or holidays for a total of 20 crafts. A plan-ahead supply list informs you of the low-cost materials needed for the entire year. In addition, each project contains its own list of supplies with instructions for what the parent will do and what the child will do. Teaching tips help you keep art time organized and introduce your child to the good habits he will need for his early education years. At the end of the year, your child will review all his colors and learn the four basic shapes. You and your child will delight in having art and craft work to present to family and friends.
"Art" for 2s and 3s consists of large pages with simple activities to teach children foundational art concepts. The volume for two-year-old children presents shapes and colors, following directions and developing eye-hand coordination. At 3, these skills continue, and they add seasonal and patriotic themes, religious art, health, safety and science pictures. Both levels include lots of simple wide lines for drawing – and kids create a book of their finished pages. Images are soft and charming and line up with the pre-school lessons featured in the Abeka curriculum.
