I bought this kit for my 8 year old granddaughter. She loves baking and cooking so this kit was perfect for her. It comes with everything you need and the instructions are very good. The chocolate turned out delicious and she enjoyed customizing her chocolates with graham crackers, nuts, marshmallows and nuts. She has already asked for another kit for her birthday. I would highly recommend the kit.

Do you need to buy ingredients? Where do you get started crystals?
Kathy A.
No, you don't need to buy any ingredients, everything is included. The starter crystals are the chocolate chips in the package. This is a surprisingly nice kit, the chocolate it made was excellent! I'd buy it again. Super fun for a 6 and 8 year old (and their parent).

Is there a recipe to follow with ingredient amounts so you can repeat the activity after you use up all of the included items?
Well, probably, if you can find a source for the chicle (we did the chewing gum kit, not the gummies kit). I didn't keep my instructions, but it seems like the other ingredients were all pretty standard items--powdered sugar, corn syrup, flavorings. The kids LOVED making their own gum! It turned out pretty well, but not the greatest gum you'll ever chew. Still, the experience was definitely worthwhile.

What are the ingredients?
from the back of the box: "organic cocoa butter, organic cocoa powder, confectioner's sugar, starter crystals..." and then the list of non-edible supplies used to complete the project. There is also a real cocoa bean. Hope this helps.
