If you have an older student who needs remediation in their reading comprehension, this series is a painless way to teach and reinforce foundational reading skills. Each day of the month features a short 1-page reading that corresponds to that day in history. Sentences are short, the font is larger, and the text has generous spacing. Besides offering comprehension practice, students are introduced to a variety of historical events, scientific discoveries, and pop culture icons. On the back of each short reading is the opportunity to practice skills such as making inferences, sequencing, comparing, cause and effect, finding the main idea, fact vs opinion, drawing conclusions, and identifying context.
