Why did you choose this?

Our curriculum, Beautiful Feet, suggests using these for lessons throughout our curriculum. I have listened to several free stories on the Your Story Hour website and the radio dramas are high quality…

We are studying early American history this year. Thought this would be a fun addition.

Homeschool history program

to go along with the Early American History study through Beautiful Feet Books

I am going to use the Early American History Primary Study Guide from Beautiful Feet. I have all the books to go with the study guide. Are these CDs just those stories in audio form, or are they other stories? Thanks.

Your Story Hour is a completely different set of stories. They cover the same topics that you read from the "living books" recommended, but they are not the same. Your Story Hour is a dramatized retelling of some parts of history. We used Early American History Primary, but we rarely did the Your Story Hour accompaniment because it has a strange way of fading in and out of "scenes". We could hear that they were still talking, but we couldn't understand what they were saying because it was fading out. This was very frustrating to my children, so we only did a few of the stories from it.

Is Your Story Hour a Christian CD?

Not that I know of. We only listened to the first CD or so, but I heard no Christian perspective. Honestly, my kids weren't engaged for very long. The narrators spoke in character, but the stories became tedious. They rarely listen to audio books, etc, though. It's probably just a personal preference
