Brightly colored and well organized, this series of books presents the history of science and technology in an exciting new way. Each book contains a running timeline across the bottom of the pages which highlight key developments of the period. Timelines are further color coded into varied science areas such as: Life Science, Technology, Astronomy and Math, and Engineering and Invention. Another unique feature of this series is the depth of world history that is covered in regards to science rather than identifying science discoveries simply in the context of ancient cultures. Textual information is concise and each page is lavishly illustrated with photographs, illustrations, sidebars with focused explanations to aid comprehension and the previously described timeline. Although the publisher recommends these for grades 6-8th, late elementary and middle school children may also enjoy the succinct, engaging presentation. Each book also contains a glossary, further reading book and website resource list, and index.
