Students will follow their new puppy and kitty friends from page to page as they explain concepts and provide practice every step of the way. Lessons are structured in 3 parts. The “Ready” section reviews prerequisite content to successfully learn the targeted grade-level skill. The “Set” section bridges the prerequisite skill to the target skill through additional practice. The “Go” section provides instruction on grade-level skills as well as independent practice. There are Math Tools located in the back of the workbook to cut out and use as hands-on manipulatives. These tools include paper base ten, counting charts, number lines, and counters. Placing these in a plastic bag inside your book will help you keep track of these paper resources. Also provided at the back of the student workbook is a glossary with pictorial examples for each mathematical word.
