Description

MaxScholar workbooks offer optional support to the online Orton-Gillingham instruction (sold separately). CLOVER is an acronym that helps students remember the different types of syllables to help them decode words. Consumable student pages work on learning 6 syllable types: closed, -le, open, vowel team, e, and r-controlled. Each exercise is on its own page to avoid being visually overwhelming to the student. Simple instructions at the top of the page reinforce what the student is seeing online. Review in the back includes a list of words for the student to categorize. The coordinating Teacher’s Manual is item 029804. Spiral-bound, not reproducible. ~Sara

Publisher's Description of MaxScholar Orton-Gillingham Syllabication: Clover Workbook

This workbook teaches syllable division which is critical for the student to be a successful reader of multi-syllabic words. Poor readers only see strings of letters and usually guess at the visual shape of a long word. This prevents orthographic errors, such as 'own' for 'one'.
