Your students can hone their reading comprehension skills
with short passages of about 3-4 sentences followed by just a few multiple-choice
questions. Each page is one activity with a title and a pleasant blackline
illustration at the top. The illustration can be discussed prior to reading,
teaching prediction skills. Genres include fiction, nonfiction, and
informational text.
I love the simplicity! This could not be easier to use. For
a child who needs more opportunities to work on their comprehension skills than
your ELA offers, or for a family who will be taking a standardized test that
aligns to grade level, this is a handy supplement to have. Answers included in
the back. There are 42 activity pages. This book is reproducible for a single
classroom or family use. ~Sara
Publisher's Description of Reading Comprehension Grade 1 (PMP) 2nd Ed.
Both teachers and parents appreciate how effectively this series helps students master skills with activities that are great for independent work in class, homework assignments, or extra practice to get ahead. Test practice pages and answer keys are included!
Targeted skills included are: reading and listening to nonfiction, fiction, and informational text; understanding level-appropriate sight words and vocabulary; matching written text to illustrations; answering who, what, when, where, why, and how questions.
These books provide loads of practice for reading comprehension on standardized tests. Each workbook contains 21 exercises, which are separated into fictional, nonfictional, and informational stories. For each exercise, the student reads the story and then completes five correlating multiple-choice questions. Practice makes perfect, and with the practice students get from this series, they will demonstrate a better understanding of their reading, and also improve their competence in various reading strategies. This series is reproducible for a single classroom only. Answer keys provided. ~ Rachel S.
