The counterweights are included to help balance your scope. The PMC-Eight system includes two DEC ports, Mini USB Port, Auto Guider, LED light indicators, 12-volt DC input, and reset button. You will need 8 C-size batteries (not included) to power the PMC-Eight system. Step-by-step instructions for assembling the tripod and mount. After you assemble your telescope and align it, choose an object in the night sky on which to focus. The ExploreStars App will help you as you begin to explore the night sky, and instructions for its use are included. The Equatorial Mount will precisely follow objects as they rise in the east and set in the west. This scope costs a bit more than a starter scope, but objects are clear to view and the tracker keeps you locked on target.
