Description

This tiny book's goal is to encourage teens in a daily practice of prayer, providing a variety of methods to try as “experiments." Major prayer components are discussed and applied. For example, after explaining the principle of adoration, a practical activity is suggested (Make a collage of things that cause you to praise God). Incorporating a multiple of modalities, ideas range from practical and simple (reading prayers you've posted on your door) to more unusual (prayer walking using a paper labyrinth or confessing using a Nerf® gun). Written by a mom and son team in England, you'll see British spellings and references as well as some references to “vicar." After the exercise, you'll find the son's reaction to trying out these experiments. Note, one chapter promotes Christian breathing meditation. 5" x 7 ½ ". 182 pgs, pb. ~ Ruth

Publisher's Description of Teenage Prayer Experiments Notebook

This book is based on a blog run by Revd Miranda Threlfall-Holmes and her teenage son, Noah, www.TeenagePrayerExperiment.blogspot.co.uk. Miranda and Noah developed the blog and book as they could find nothing on the market to introduce teenagers to different ways of praying. Each chapter of the book introduces a prayer practice, e.g., using labyrinths, Lego Bible modelling, prayer beads, prayer walking. It also includes comments by teenagers who have tried it out and space for the young person to record their own thoughts.
