Favorite Wildflowers Coloring Book
Already in its third printing, this large-format coloring book teaches as you color. An ideal supplement to your nature study (especially during those fall/winter months), your young naturalists will be able to easily spot these in the wild after becoming familiar with their appearances. Includes interesting captions.
Now lovers of wildflowers can color a bouquet of floral favorites in this charming book. In detailed, accurate drawings, nature illustrator Ilil Arbel has rendered 44 familiar wildflowers: yellow flag, downy lobelia, bittersweet nightshade, wild hyacinth, spring beauty, bunchberry, fringed gentian, showy evening primrose, mayapple, common yarrow, showy tick trefoil, wild bleeding heart, ivy-leaved morning glory, meadow rose, yellow iris, globe thistle, wild calla, desert marigold, and many more.
Each flower is shown in color on the covers. In addition, captions give plants' height, coloring, common and botanical names, and other information. The result is an informative guide that offers not only hours of coloring enjoyment but also an excellent way for flower lovers to learn to recognize and identify many species. Favorite Wildflowers Coloring Book also represents a fine source of royalty-free illustrations for artists and craftspeople.
These high-quality, informative coloring books are just right for accompanying a unit study. Subjects are nicely detailed. Generally, illustrations on the inside covers depict the natural colors if you want to produce a realistic finished product. Very brief captions are nonetheless instructive. After coloring through a book, we're certain you'll be able to more easily identify specimens when you see them. Some books, like Rocks and Minerals, have several pages of worthwhile information in the front, including a discussion of different types of rocks and minerals, how to start collecting rocks, classifying rocks, and specific tests for identifying them. The My Horse coloring book has an introductory four pages on horse anatomy and features, then contains generous captions that form a mini-course in identifying, classifying, riding, and caring for horses. Our favorite medium is colored pencil. Since we offer a selection of quality colored pencils, we thought we'd lay in a generous supply of our favorite educational coloring books as well!
Boost™ editions, subtitled "seriously fun learning," are aligned to the Common Core with specific standardsnoted at the bottom of each page. A freeteacher's manual can be downloaded from theDover website.
