Skippers are a classic toy that you may not have seen in a while! They consist of a loop of rope, a length of rope, and a durable ball on the end. Just place the loop around your ankle, start it spinning, and skip over it with your other foot. Unlike jumping rope, it gets both feet coordinated to a different rhythm and takes up less space than swinging a jump rope. Great for active play, developing coordination, and burning off those extra calories! Skippers are available in different colors; see below.
We needed to tie 2 extra knots at the end of the ball to get this to work. You need to keep the knot from getting stuck inside the ball so that the ball can freely spin. Kids are having fun!

Skipper Toy
This skipper toy is much like the one I had as a child; however, when I begin using it, the cord twists up like a telephone cord and I can't use it beyond 5-6 "skips". Wish it didn't coil up like this. It's a well-made skipper.
