Publisher's Description of Geography Coloring Book
For introductory courses in Geography.
This unique educational tool introduces the countries of the world and the states of the United States to students. Each section begins with a plate containing a political map, a physical map, and regional maps. Through active participation, by coloring in countries, rivers, regions, etc. (and their respective names), students gain a broader understanding of the material and retain more information. A highly effective, but also enjoyable, way to learn.
This is a wonderful resource. I used this when I was homeschooled 30 years ago and now I'm using it with my daughter!! Lovely detailed maps provide a great supplement to our curriculum!

This coloring book is our favorite new addition this year! The children I am teaching this year are in grades K 1 3 5 7 and 10 All of them love this book I have even found myself looking forward to coloring my maps! The way the book is organized is super helpful You are generally going to have three maps to color regardless of the country/region/continent you are studying The first map is of a continent divided into specific countries The countries are all labeled with a letter inside their border so you can find the country name on the facing page and color the name to match the color of the country The second map is sometimes "zoomed in" with a smaller section covered For example when we were studying Ancient Egypt this year our first map was of the entire continent of Africa but the second map was only of Northern Africa On the second map you only color in an outline about one centimeter in width inside the border of each country Once again you color in bubble letters on the facing page that match the outline color you used in the countries The third map is a physical features map and it shows major rivers mountain ranges deserts and mountain peaks I love the way the authors widened the rivers so they can be colored in As with the previous two maps there are labels for the physical features on the facing page which are meant to be colored to match the map This technique has worked great for all the different learning styles in our home! When the children look at their colored map their eyes are automatically drawn to the label with the same color They are quickly able to identify the countries in whatever region we are studying All in all this has been a very easy to implement geography supplement for our history studies The children are learning lots of geography and best of all there is no planning required of me! The older children are producing real works of art with this book and the attention to detail that is required helps them remember what they're seeing

What is the copyright policy for the Geography Coloring Book by Wynn Kapit? May I make copies for use within our home, or do each of my children need their own copy?
It's possible to write the publisher asking permission to reproduce the material. One customer who did this was given permission to copy for the use of her own family.
