Publisher's Description of Core 52

Most of us want to know the Bible better, but few reach our goal, often because we're too busy or we don't know where to start. Core 52 removes both barriers, offering a common-sense solution that fits into our busy lives. Respected Bible professor and teaching pastor Mark E. Moore developed this proven process from thirty-five years of helping people grow deeper in God's Word.

Each week features a brief essay, memory verse, Bible story, trajectory verses, and practical ways to put what you've learned into practice. An optional "Overachiever Challenge" offers the chance to memorize the top 100 Bible verses by year's end.

This simple approach allows you to become familiar with the big ideas of the Bible in less time and with less effort than other reading plans. In one year, you can master the core of the Bible—focusing on topics from God's will to worry, happiness to holiness, and leadership to love. These fifty-two core passages are lenses through which you can read the rest of the Bible with clarity and confidence.

Category Description for Core 52

If it sounds like a fitness exercise—you're mostly right. In 15-minutes daily, this common-sense study approach builds your spiritual fitness. Both the Student Edition and Core 52 (for adults or students eager to dig into meatier challenges) cover the same Bible concepts/passages in the same chapters. In Core 52 the titles, writing styles, chapter lengths, and examples used are unique to the target audience. The chapters (theme-based, highlighting specific verses) are easily digestible, offer key points, and provide 5 days of practical, yet progressively challenging tasks. Some tasks might be read the included essay; memorize the core Scripture and review previous verses; read the Bible passage; or read additional passages for implications and connections. Weeks always end with practically exercising the principle in the real world (about 30 minutes of your week). For example, in the Student Chapter 13, "Identify a popular thing you need to stop doing because it isn't right." The corresponding adult assignment is "practice one act of deliberate humiliation." Adults can also select "Overachiever" challenges and "Bonus Reading" options. Practical, doable, and God-honoring, you'll have what you need to "run with endurance the race set before" you. Core 52 is 369 pgs, pb. The Student Edition is 255 pgs. The Family Edition is a great resource for providing your children with a solid Biblical foundation. Use around the dinner table or during family reading time for 10-15 minutes a day. It is our job as parents to teach them the way of God. This book is a guide to get started in that direction. Each chapter has a check list of things to do each day that week. 223 pgs, hc. ~ Ruth
