Big Book of Beginner's Piano Classics
Perfect for any beginning pianist who is fairly comfortable with the piano (notes, sharps/flats, simple chords, etc.), this book includes 83 simple arrangements of beautiful classical pieces. With selections from over 30 different composers including Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy, Handel, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, and Vivaldi, students will easily find a number of enjoyable pieces to master. To give you an idea of the difficulty level, most of the pieces require either no sharps or flats or only one, although there are a few with two or three, and there are plenty of arrangements that are quite easy on the left hand especially. However, there is still a nice range of difficulty within the book to allow for varying abilities. 133 pgs. Melissa
Why not go straight to the classics to improve your piano skills? These arrangements take significant creations and make them accessible for young pianists. Pieces are transposed into simple keys, span 1-2 pages, typically emphasize the treble line while a simple bass line underscores the whole. Bindings easily lay flat. Vol 1 includes 83 renditions of famous pieces from Bach to Verdi. Vol 2 includes 5 duets (including Chopsticks and Fur Elise), with 52 selections ranging from Bach to Gavote. Each selection includes a small intro to the music or its style. To develop that listening ear, download the free MP3 downloads available on the publisher website. While a sufficient beginner challenge, these will encourage pianists to learn the originals. ~ Ruth
