Primary phonics workbooks.
these work books stand the test of time. I have used them for many years. I needed remedial work this year, I was glad to see the are still being published. Using the readers and workbooks together is a more complete use of the pages. . Bur the workbooks can stand alone.

I chose this program for my strong willed independent childHe taught himself the basics of reading but was resistant to being taught anymore than he already knew He wanted to learn to do it himselfI remember choosing this program because the catalog described it as being student led It has been a great fit for us He is able to do most of the work on his own I listen to him read the readers and I go over any mistakes that he has made in the workbook I am very glad we chose this because my sons reading ability has soared since using itThis is a very complete phonics program It is well suited for my independent learner but I really feel that it would work for all types of learners My first son struggled with phonics and I would have loved to find such a well rounded program then I used a combination of different things to accomplish what this has in one programThe three parts of the program work well with each other The lessons really go smoothly The main teaching is done in the workbooks The readers reinforce what the student has learned and the comprehension books check the kids understanding of what they have read I would not do one part of the program without the others We started using this before the teachers guides came out We haven't needed them but I think they would be very useful if you were teaching phonics for the first time The workbooks are very self explanatory but they do not give any written instruction Overall I love this program! I would recommend it to anyone looking for a workbook based phonics program

Help struggling reader

Recommended as a great phonics curriculum. We did sample pages and I think it will be perfect for what we are looking for.

Used them for years in my classroom.

I have used Workbook 1-6 series. Very good.

is this paperback?

Yes. It is thick laminated type paper for the cover and should probably last for the amount of time the child uses the book. I’ve used them for years and they have done great.

I used this program many years ago. It doesn't look as if they have updated any of the pictures since I used it back 30 years ago. Have the removed the pictures and words for gun, dam, the man smoking the pipe, pipe etc?

It’s updated and the book is delightful
