Description

While level 1 of Flip Flop Spanish has 80 lessons spread over 2 years, Level 2 has a different dynamic. Using 3 decks of cards with color photos and clear text, Level 2 is divided into 3 sections. Each section has built-in breaks, designed to be done over 68 weeks. With the flexibility of the program and methodology, you could spread Level 2 over three years, depending on your group dynamic and lesson frequency.

  • Set 1 (orange) has 24 nouns, 17 past-tense verbs, 2 new phrases, and 1 question.
  • Set 2 (purple) has 31 nouns & verbs, 12 adjectives, 6 professions, and 7 past-tense verbs.
  • Set 3 (yellow) has 17 nouns, 12 adjectives, 10 verbs and 6 past-tense sentence starters.

Also in the box are a small cardstock clock, game spinner, black Expo marker, a fold-out gameboard, 2 page protectors for storing the cards currently in use, a small card with access to your audio content via QR code, and the very important lesson plans for the parent/teacher. You will need a 3-ring binder for the lesson plans.

This level will add a writing component for older students to practice building sentences. Younger learners can still focus on speaking and listening skills with the cards and teacher interaction. The lesson plans are very clear about what numbered cards to use from what deck and what audio track to play. It is quite directed for the parent who may not know Spanish themselves. If you liked Level 1, you will love Level 2 as you expand your Spanish speaking skills in a fun and cooperative way! ~Sara

Category Description for Flip Flop Spanish

Si Si Flip Flip Flop Spanish takes a different approach to language instruction than most traditional courses. Spanish is taught in the natural way children acquire language – learning new words and getting a response. Students learn chunks of language they can use right away. Parents are guided with lessons on digital audio files (QR code) and a printed teacher manual (looseleaf). The main teaching tools are the cards with color photos and words. You can expect to do lessons 3x a week using the short audio tracks. Lessons vary from 8-15 minutes and may have games, charades and skits, with optional writing.

Level 1 includes materials for 2 years of instruction (80 lessons) with 3 decks of cards, dry-erase paddle with marker, and 2 sheets of card sleeves. Students start with simple vocabulary (see the video) but will progress to articles, ser/estar/ir/tener, regular ar verbs, possessive adjectives, noun/adjective agreement, #0-50, commands, questions, parts of speech, syntax, prepositions and singular/plural words. Level 2 is for 1 year of instruction using 3 decks of cards, a gameboard, spinner, and 2 sheets of card sleeves. Additional grammar (past tense) and writing for older students can be done while younger students focus on speaking and listening skills.
