Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey First Flight Edition -1136 pieces (Armed Forces)
On March 19, 1989, over 30 years ago, a new chapter in the history of aviation began. An unusual machine - a prototype tiltrotor - soared into the sky for the first time, a fascinating and futuristic combination of a helicopter and an airplane. The tiltrotor known as the Bell-Boeing V-22 Osprey was the first multi-role short take-off and landing aircraft. It owes its extraordinary properties to the rotating drive system. Engine nacelles with rotors with a diameter of 12 meters can rotate during flight. Thanks to this solution, the machine can take off and land like a helicopter, and after changing the position of the engines, it goes to horizontal flight. Turning the propulsion nacelles by 45 degrees enables both short take-off and landing, similar to STOL aircraft. The Osprey was jointly developed by Bell Helicopter Textron, which produces wings, engine nacelles with Rolls-Royce engines, rotors, propulsion system, tail control surfaces and loading ramp, and the Boeing Company, which produces fuselage, cockpit, avionics and controls. The Osprey manufacturing company is called Bell-Boeing. Due to its extraordinary properties, the V-22 Osprey found its way into the equipment of the United States Marine Corps, United States Navy and other services, with the only exception being the US Army.
The COBI model of the Bell-Boeing V-22 Osprey was released under the license of the American manufacturer of combat helicopters, Bell Helicopter Textron. Developed in 1:48 scale to match the rest of the Armed Forces collection, the model consists of 1136 elements and includes two figures depicting the first test pilots in distinctive uniforms. The length of the model is 390 mm, the width is 500 mm! Completely new elements have been developed for the set, which make our model even better! Numerous detailed prints capture the look of the signature test paint. The most important functionalities of the model are the drive nacelles, which can be set in different positions, rotating rotor blades, opening cabin doors with stairs, access to the cockpit and the possibility of placing figures there, and an opening rear loading hatch.
Piece together your own military replicas from WWI, WWII, the Vietnam War, and more with our large collection of COBI building blocks! These detailed models make for unique toys and displays. The combat vehicle sets resemble specific tanks, jeeps, planes, and ships that were used on both sides of war throughout modern history. We also offer models of famous vehicle prototypes and historic landmarks. Each COBI model is built with interlocking plastic bricks, pre-printed with logos and identification markings. The sets vary in difficulty level and piece count, and are great for display or imaginative play. COBI sets all feature some unique combinations of moveable or interactive components depending on the model, such as working car wheels and tank tracks, adjustable gun barrels, swiveling turrets, rotating propellers, and so much more! COBI bricks are compatible with other brick construction brands. ~ Brianna
