Publisher's Description of Grammar and Composition II Student Test and Quiz Book

Writing grammar tests and quizzes on a level appropriate for an eighth grader can be challenging, especially when you have the added goal of including some sentence content that reaches the child's heart and mind. Abeka tests are classroom- tested to be sure that these quizzes and tests over grammar, library use, and composition more than meet your needs. Test content includes grammatical analysis of sentences, proper usage of various parts of speech, diagramming, composition fact, grammatical terms, and application of rules for capitalization, punctuation, and manuscript form. Since grammar is a skills class, the 12 tests (including 4 exams) are cumulative so that no skill is forgotten. Each grammar test is designed to be combined with its corresponding Of Places Literature test for one test grade.

The 22 quizzes also will help you evaluate your child's understanding of concepts as they are taught. Bonus features include a research paper check sheet, research paper grade form, and book report reading record. The quiz and test book is correlated with Grammar and Composition II Work-text, 6th ed., and the Home School English 8 Curriculum/Lesson Plans. Answers and grading instructions are sold separately in Grammar and Composition II Quiz/Test Key Grade 8.

Category Description for Abeka Grammar & Composition Ii (Grade 8)

Students start with a quick review of capitalization, punctuation, and sentence structure, then move to grammar (parts of speech, and usage), with a focus on writing style. Throughout these chapters "Writer's Corner" assignments (with brief explanations, and detailed steps to plan, write, rewrite, and edit) will cover description, limerick, cinquain, string-a-long stories (created by adding words to each sentence), personal narratives, and more. The composition section reviews the writing process, then guides students in writing summaries, book reports, outlining, and research papers. Includes a grammar and diagramming handbook, documentation appendix, and index. The course requires the consumable student text and the spiral bound teacher key (full student text with answers and full Grammar Handbook). For testing, use the consumable student quiz and test booklet, and the teacher quiz and test key. Use the Supplementary Exercises (with perforated pages) for students needing more grammar, usage, and mechanics' practice. ~ Ruth
