This worktext is the fifth of ten LightUnits for Algebra II. Divided into daily lessons, instruction is clear and followed by example problems and practice as well as review problems. Students write their answers on a separate sheet of paper. Unit 5 covers the Pythagorean Theorem, matrices, the distance and midpoint formulas, radical equations, multiplication of two matrices, trigonometric ratios, equations with multiple radicals, the fundamental principle of counting, matrix determinants, fractional exponents, graphing simple rational functions, and solving right triangles. Students will need to work out problems on other paper. Sunrise Algebra 2 reviews and expands on algebraic concepts from Algebra 1, and introduces new concepts such as matrices, probability, conic sections, logarithms, complex numbers, and trigonometry. Quizzes and tests are not included in the LightUnits and must be purchased separately.

Although the content has not changed in this updated Sunrise edition, it is more user-friendly with better explanations making it fairly independent for the student. Daily lessons make it easy to follow with clear expectations. The ten Light Units include a total of 160 lessons. The beginning of each Light Unit has a page of notes to the teacher and the student on how to administer the Light Unit, understanding the symbols, and guidelines for self-scoring. Students need to work out their problems on a separate sheet of paper. After each section are study notes for quizzes and tests. Quizzes/tests and solution keys are sold separately.
