Daily Math Practice 5
For the first four days of the week, 5th grade math students will complete short, targeted math problems. The last activity for the week extends learning with opportunities for problem solving and applying critical thinking skills. The frequent, focused practice improves math skills, and each title includes downloadable home–school connection activities.
What's Inside:
Students complete five short math problems on days 1–4. The day 5 activity provides more extensive practice and asks students to think critically.
The 36 weeks of grade 5 skill practice covers:
- Operations fluency
- Fractions
- Decimals
- Algebraic reasoning
- Measurement and data
- Geometry
- Word problems
Very comprehensive in scope and progressive in difficulty, these grade level daily drills will help assure continual review and reinforcement of math concepts and skills. Daily drills are provided for 36 weeks and take about 5 minutes per day with 5 problems per drill. Each day's activity includes two computational problems, one word problem, and two problems that cover a wide variety of skills (such as numeration, patterns/algebra, geometry/spatial, measurement - including time and money, and data/probability). This format is followed Monday-Thursday. Friday's drill contains just one or two, more extensive, activities that often require multiple steps to solve.
The Grade Level Teacher Books are reproducible and include a reduced-page answer key in the back. The Student Practice Books (Individual Student Workbooks) are not reproducible and do not include an answer key. These books are designed to be used when you do not wish to make copies from the Teacher Books.
