Description

This hardcover book with audio CD is a beautifully designed and illustrated introduction to the story-filled world of ballet. The first chapter introduces you to some basic terminology, ballet positions, and history, and invites you to listen to a couple of CD music tracks. Then, each chapter that follows tells the story of a particular ballet, complete with gorgeous, watercolor-like illustrations. Throughout these chapters you'll be able to listen to some of the music and/or learn a little bit more about terminology and technique. Occasionally a chapter will also feature a famous dancer, like Rudolph Nureyev. A glossary is included in the back, and there's also a resource section for learning more about becoming a ballerina, great ballets, famous dancers, and fiction stories about dancing. The final page provides you with a CD track list for your reference. 96 pgs ~ Caryl
