Have you ever tried to read the notes about how things were translated at the beginning of your Bible? Unless you're really into linguistics or translating, it's pretty boring and hard to follow. For that reason I wasn't expecting much when I picked up this book about how the Bible was translated into the native Tibetan language. However, the book is surprisingly fast-paced, and I found the story both interesting and inspirational. Many seemingly small and incidental events transpired to begin and continue the work it took to translate the Tibetan Bible. It took an incredible ninety years of perseverance through trials like revolutions, storms, persecution from the extremely Buddhist government and people, wars, avalanches, and of course the incredible language barrier.
