Math-U-See is an interactive, hands-on math approach for mastery of math concepts from elementary through middle school
Math-U-See Gamma focuses on single and multi-digit multiplication, with other topics taught throughout the course
Math-U-See Gamma takes kids from the mastery of addition and
subtraction into single-digit facts and multi-digit multiplication skills. It
also includes abstract and real-world problems that use addition, subtraction,
and multiplication; measuring and computing area; adding/subtracting time in
hours and minutes; basic fractions; multiplying/adding/subtracting money and
standard units of measurement; and more. The Math-U-See Gamma Set (no Integer
Blocks) is designed for families who already own the Integer Block Kit. It
includes the Math-U-See
Gamma Student Workbook and Tests, Math-U-See Gamma Online
Instruction with Video, and the Math-U-See Gamma Instruction
Manual. If your family is new to Math-U-See, we also offer the Math-U-See Gamma Set
(with the Integer Blocks), which includes all the required components.
Mastery of multiplication for single and multiple-digit numbers. Additional topics include adding and subtracting time in hours and minutes; multiplying, adding, and subtracting US currency; recording and interpreting data; understanding basic fractions and estimating and solving measurement problems.
Lessons follow a similar format – watch the DVD lesson (parent then child/parent together), work through
lesson examples in the instruction manual together, and complete worksheets.
Lessons conclude with a test. Cumulative unit tests are scheduled regularly to
assure students retain previous teaching. A final test concludes the course and
covers all concepts taught.
