Level 1 is the first step for students after they’ve
completed a beginning phonics program. Phonics instruction will
continue; students will finish with some two syllable words and letter
combinations like squ, dge, and scr. Students will ease into reading aloud, reading large print
sentences directed by the parent. They’ll also enjoy three read-alouds from
Master Books that highlight both a Creationist and evangelical viewpoint. Purchase
as a set or individually. This level includes spelling;
independent, at-level reading; oral narration; and handwriting.
