I loved half of it.
Watching the video explanation of this curriculum got me so excited! I loved the idea of using all our learning styles to learn about history. I LOVED the idea of listening to the music, cooking from the country/time period being studied, and being able to choose, based on learning style, how to demonstrate what you've learned.

And I did love those parts. But unfortunately, there is SO, SO MUCH information in this one book. It was a major overload for my 12 and 15 year old as well as myself! I had such a hard time following - too many characters, too many places, too many points in time. It scrambled my brain trying to take it all in. Even if you thought you could take it at a slower pace, the way it's laid out won't allow for you to do that easily.

Half way through the book, I was sifting through, trying to find little nuggets that we could focus on, so as to not toss the whole thing out the window. I really wanted to love this curriculum and I really think that the author is onto something with the learning styles. I would love to see something similar, but not so all-characters, all-countries, all-encompassing! It's just too much.

Why did you choose this?

Trying this with my high-schooler who is definitely not a lover of textbooks!

All in one and good for multiple grades.

Last year I used Ancient Civilizations and was very pleased with it. So we are returning this year for Romans, Reformers, and Revolutionaries. This curriculum can be as intense or minimal as you…

We used History Revealed: Ancient Civilizations and the Bible last year for our 6th grade son who is dyslexic. It is a great curriculum with many engaging and hands on activities.
