This semester long curriculum package includes hardcover textbook, softcover lab notebook, softcover teacher manual, and lesson plans in PDF format. The colorful, hardcover textbook goes into a little more detail than the elementary level. The consumable lab notebook contains all the experiment instruction and lab responses. Guidance for the experiments is in the teacher manual. Lesson plans, a 20-page downloadable PDF, allow you to create a schedule that works best for your family.
This bundle introduces students in grades 5-8 to college-level geology concepts such as Earth's layers, rocks, minerals, soils, volcanoes and earthquakes, the atmosphere, the hydrosphere, the biosphere, the magnetosphere, Earth as a system, and more. The Laboratory Notebook includes twelve (12) hands-on experiments where students will explore observing geological features, testing for minerals, map making, modeling an aquifer, cloud formation, Earths geomagnetic field, modeling tectonic plates.

It is what the mother running our co-op picked out for her science class. I have never heard of the curriculum.
Because this curriculum supposedly prepares students for HS science by teaching "real" science terms in an organized, age-appropriate way. I'm so excited! :)
I'll be teaching middle school geology to our homeschool co-op this year, and this was the only curriculum I could find that focuses primarily on geology topics (as opposed to a more general physical…
