Provide your student with a
cursive review and then an application of these skills. Students use different
multisensory techniques with the dual-lined and dual-sided chalkboard, box of
chalk, and sponges. At this level, students are copying and writing with
creative prompts. The included Teacher Guide provides extension activities and
directions for multiple activities. ~ Ruth
Perhaps your student wants to maintain and strengthen their cursive
handwriting skills. This level is a great option! Perhaps your student is still
developing their cursive skills—also perfect! After students learn and practice
creating a few letters, they’ll work through “Pause and Practice” pages to apply
what they learned as they write additional words or phrases. Using the student
and teacher books in conjunction is highly recommended. A few manipulatives are
also suggested: the Ready
for Cursive Poster Set and the Blackboard with Double Lines
with chalk bits/little sponge cubes. If your student needs additional writing
practice at this stage, the previous edition’s Building Writers and Writing Journal
correlate and provide a nice learning extension. While keyboarding and other
tech skill activities are suggested, the classroom digital teaching tools are only
available for traditional classrooms (identified with a laptop/tablet icon).
