Sandtastik Colored Sand

Description

Sand art involves layering colored sand into a clear bottle using a funnel. You can then poke the sand along the side of the bottle with a skewer to create the look of mountains, valleys and other designs. If you are new to sand art, try it out with the activity kit first. It comes with 8 clear plastic screw-top bottles, 10 colors of sand and 2 funnels. You could do this kit with a scout group, art class, Sunday school or even a birthday party (just get more funnels!). Tilt the bottle as your pour the sand and watch the layers change. Once you are a pro, replace your sand and make even more! It's a good recycling project to look for some perfect sand art bottles! If a bottle doesn't have a screw top lid, try a cork and some craft glue to seal it up. Once they are done, give them as gifts or use them to hold down papers or even helium balloons for a party. Try not to shake the bottle or you lose the layers! Have fun and experiment. This is a craft best done outdoors (you're welcome!). ~Sara
