Breaking the Spanish Barrier is a solid option for independent high school Spanish instruction. There are 3 levels – Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. Each level is a strong high school foreign language credit.
The Beginner Level has a 2-year option if you prefer: 1A Vamos! and 1B En Camino.
Students will learn speaking, listening, reading and writing skills from the beginning. Most students will spend 45 minutes to an hour, 3-4 times per week, to finish one level in one school year. No previous Spanish study is necessary.
Course components include:
- consumable Student Worktext (absolutely essential, 1 per student)
- 1-year Online Access to lessons (required, send via email, not a credit without the worktext)
- Answer Key Booklet (highly recommended, students can check their own work)
- Testing Program (highly recommended for a high school student doing this for a credit)
- Oasis quick reference guide (handy, but I still recommend a student bilingual dictionary)
- Complete Packages (items listed above) available for Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3.
