place value by practicing addition and subtraction. Other topics include
measurement, geometry, as well as time and money concepts. The text also
introduces skills for writing equations, reading graphs, and solving word
problems. New chapters developing the concepts of plane figures as well as graphs
and charts have been added to this edition. Chapters include a chapter review
and cumulative review. Paper Manipulatives are used in this hands-on approach
to math, and are the same manipulatives as used in the K5 program. Unifix
cubes are also recommended in Grade 1, but a good supply of Legos® will also work. Not compatible with
other editions.
