Written from a Christian
perspective, this book will give students understanding of God’s orderliness
and teach them how to apply mathematical principles to everyday life. Algebra 2
lays
the foundation for studies of higher mathematics and focuses on developing
critical thinking skills. Beyond foundational algebraic concepts, Algebra 2
gives a strong introduction to trigonometry and the following topics: equations and
inequalities; polynomial equations and inequalities; functions; systems of
equations and inequalities; matrices; exponential and logarithmic functions;
triangles and basic trigonometry; trigonometry and the cartesian plane;
sequences, series, and counting; probability; statistics. Students will need a
scientific calculator.
The two-volume Algebra
2 Teacher’s Edition provides a course Scope and Sequence, a suggested daily
schedule, and a complete curriculum of 170 daily lessons. The reduced student
pages with answers have teacher-help icons and suggestions to enhance your
teaching. The Solutions Key contains the answers for all problems and
includes solutions for the problems needing work shown. The Student Text
is a practical textbook with each chapter starting with the history or specific
application of the current concept. Throughout the book there are shaded boxes
that give quick reference to key concepts. Each section has practice problems
to learn the concept covered. This spiral math program has review exercises to
give students the opportunity to practice skills from previous lessons plus
chapter and quarter review exercises. Essential problems are marked with an
arrow. A word-problem review section is included in the back of the student
text. The non-reproducible Quizzes/Tests correlate with material covered in the student text. In the Appendix, additional quiz and test questions covering optional concepts can be found. A separate Quizzes/Test Key includes the answers and solution steps to these quizzes and tests. 170 lessons.

Charlotte Mason
A methodology based on the work of a 19th century educator who maintained that children learn best from literature (Living Books), not textbooks.
Classical
A methodology based on the Latin Trivium (three stages of learning), including the grammar stage (memorization and facts), logic stage (critical thinking), and rhetoric stage (developing/defending ideas).
Unit Study
A thematic or topical approach centered around one topic that integrates multiple subject areas.
Montessori (Discovery)
A methodology based on the work of a 20th century educator that emphasizes student and sensory-driven discovery learning and real-life applications.
Other
Other methodologies

Learning Modality
Auditory
Learns through listening, talking out loud or reading out loud.
Visual
Learns through seeing, prefers written instructions and visual materials.
Kinesthetic/Tactile (Hands-On)
Learns through moving, doing and touching.
Multi-Sensory
Curriculum that employ a variety of activities/components.
Presentation
Sequential
Curriculum progresses through well-defined learning objectives. Emphasizes mastery before moving to the next topic.
Spiral
Topics and concepts are repeated from level to level, adding more depth at each pass and connecting with review.
Conceptual/Topical
Focus is on the “why,” often with a unifying concept as well as specific skills; coverage may be broader.
Teacher Involvement
Low Teacher Involvement
Student-led materials; parent acts as a facilitator.
Medium Teacher Involvement
A mix of teacher-led time and independent student work.
