This colorful student reader is part of the Bob Jones
Grade 3 Literature program. The selection of short stories includes realistic
and historical fiction, poetry, articles, drama, biblical stories, biographies,
and more. Students ponder a thinking question as they are reading, and “Think
& Discuss” questions, along with vocabulary words, are included at the end
of each selection. This reader is for first semester grade 3. There were no

Reading 3 Student Reader 3A (3rd ed.) contains developmentally appropriate selections from a variety of genres with a progression of difficulty in readability and skills to provide success for every student. New Bible retellings closely follow the text in Scripture. Feature pages are included before and after selections to highlight literary skills, comprehension questions, and vocabulary.
The readers at this level include a variety of selections that encourage building positive virtues and character qualities. Readers are exposed to many genres, including poetry, fiction, historical fiction, biographies, tall tales, adaptations of Bible stories and more. Comprehension skills are emphasized and phonics skills are reviewed. The Home School Kit contains Adventures in Reading 3A and 3B student texts, Student Worktext, the Worktext Teacher’s Edition, and the two-volume Teacher Edition that also includes the Toolkit CD and guides with novels for two BJ Booklinks.
