Description
Category Description for BJU Press Phonics Review

Designed to be used independently by the student who has had some phonics instruction but still struggles with phonics concepts, this colorful worktext provides lots of phonics practice. There is a full consonant review, but the activities are particularly strong on vowel concepts. It can be used either as a component of the 2nd grade reading program or to present an effective foundation in phonics for a student who was introduced to reading with little or no phonics instruction. The book is also an effective tool for ESL students. The general theme for the book is "going places," and the varied exercises and activities take students to grandma's house, the park, the zoo, the canyon rim, Washington D.C, and space. The answer key contains reduced student pages. ~ Janice

Great review for elementary
I got this for my 3rd grader who appears to struggle with spelling and might have some sort of dysgraphia or dyslexia challenges (pending testing). It is a great review and is helping him build confidence. This has also been great for my 1st grader who appears to be about grade level.

Why did you choose this?

Child has some phonics gaps to address.

I am using with a student who needs a little extra help in Phonics.

Working with a student to read and write since she isn't learning it in the public school. It's been a great resource that covers the basics of phonics. It's colorful and easy to use.

I wanted to use this book to review phonics with my daughter who just completed 3rd grade and struggles with reading.
