Exploring the big
worldview questions about God, the universe, people, truth, and right and
wrong, this series allows students to seek answers through a biblical
perspective. It’s so important for each of us to apply biblical principles to
our lives as we think and make decisions that align to God’s Word, and this
program teaches students to live out their faith. Christianity in Action is
divided into two sections – Worldview and Bible Survey. Worldview focuses on
cultural engagement and life application of the Christian worldview within the
disciplines of theology, philosophy, ethics, psychology, sociology, biology,
and history. Bible Survey is centered around the Epistles. The components of
this course include a Teacher Manual, Student Text, and Student Workbook. Each
component can be sold separately or in a package. There are a total of 136
daily lessons.
The Teacher Manual teaches Worldview in the
first unit and Bible Survey is covered in the second unit. Each lesson is
broken down into several days. Every day lists a lesson background with easy-to-follow
instructions. Teacher instructions include use of Blackline Masters and
Presentation Slides and the back of the teacher manual has the web address,
username, and password for these resources. Blackline Masters include
cooperative-learning activities and enriched student learning and assessment
tools. Presentation Slides are full-color visual aids and you can display these
slides using a computer, overhead projector, and LCD projector. A reduced copy
of the student workbook with answers is included in the back of each lesson.
The colorful, hardback Student Textbook provides
engaging text for students to read. All scripture in the text is taken from the
New Living Translation® version
of the Bible. Unit One focuses on Worldview topics and Unit 2 includes Bible
Survey lessons. Enjoyable Application Stories are interspersed throughout the
text.
The consumable Student Workbook is in full
color with perforated pages. After each daily lesson, students complete two
pages in the workbook. Answers to the questions and activities are found in the
student textbook or their Bible.
Families enjoy a very comprehensive and
engaging Bible curriculum for middle school students with this program,
covering topics that are relevant to this age group. ~ Gina
