D'Nealian Handwriting 2022 Homeschool Bundle Grade 2
Includes the consumable 2nd grade Student Workbook and 1-Year Digital Access to Savvas Realize for the online teacher guide with digital student resources. The student workbook begins with a “Getting Ready to Write” unit, focused on correct hand positions as well as letter size, slant, and spacing. Manuscript letters and sentences are reviewed before introducing strokes to help transition into cursive lowercase letters first. Capital letters are introduced after lowercase cursive has been sufficiently practiced. Students also work on numbers and number words. Line width throughout the book is ½” inch with a dotted half line. 127 pgs, pb. ~Nancie
D'Nealian Handwriting is the original continuous stroke handwriting program! It's based on a few simple connecting strokes that children then use to write in cursive. Grade 2.
D’Nealian Handwriting 2022 offers a uniquely integrated print and digital experience! D'Nealian style handwriting uses a continuous stroke method, and the letters have a more elegant look than a traditional ball-and-stick method. With more fluid lines and fewer pencil lifts, the chance for letter reversals is greatly reduced. In fact, 80% of the letters are the same in both print and cursive! The easier transition from print to cursive happens in Grade 2. While the colorful Student Workbooks are open and go, with plenty of age-level practice, review, and evaluation… the digital platform allows teachers to customize resource content, offering students the ability to practice anytime/anywhere. Inside the printed student book is a card you will use to access the online component. This resource is a 1-year digital access to Savvas Realize, which features the online Teacher Book and all digital resources (the graphics you see of the teacher book are from the online access, not a physical book). Follow the instructions to Savvas Realize where you will find tabs under "browse". These tabs include table of contents, resources, standards, leveled readers, an eText, and tools. I found the most useful content under the resources section. There are stroke modeling animations a child can watch for help with proper slant, size, and spacing of letters. Teachers can print on-demand student practice pages for each lesson or assign interactive student practice with videos and tracing activities. There is also a very helpful practice generator where you can create and assign personalized practice pages for your student to complete. Perforated pages are NOT reproducible.
