Topically, students will study the science and chemistry of life, ecology, genetics, bacteria, viruses, protists, fungi, plants, and animals. There are 16 modules, each taking approximately 2 weeks (1 hour per day/5 days per week.), exams follow each module and quarterly exams are also included. Three types of lab exercises are included: Household, microscopic, and dissections. I am not certain how many of the experiments overlap. You could check the supplies lists online
Sandi Gactually, i don't remember. i'm thinking they were glass. however, we found the kit to be extremely useful and helpful in not having to gather all the miscellaneous stuff for each experiment. whichever they were, it was totally adequate for my 9 & 10 grader.
jennifer cIdeally, it's one kit per student. I suppose if you partnered up, several students could work on the experiments together, but then the individual students wouldn't really have the same experience. There would be parts of the experiments that they were only watching, not participating in.
For a group, it would probably be easier to purchase the items at a grocery store or whatever.
Is there a list of the items included in the kit and the items that you need to provide?
Thank you for an easy way to prepare for experiments.
for homeschooling
I'm directing classical conversations challenge 2 class and these are recommended by other directors to use for biology.
These kits save so much time and money. When you get to an experiment you have everything you need right there.
